Si, Hablamos Inglés

Here in the heart of the largest Spanish-speaking city on the planet we have been surprised and encouraged to have found Capital City Baptist Church. What sets this church apart from many of the others is that it holds weekly services in English. This house of worship serves many of the international business professionals and their families who make Mexico City their temporary home.

Last week a team of church volunteers along with missions’ team from Texas held an English-speaking vacation bible school for the children involved in the church as well as those from the larger community. We were fortunate to have this opportunity to involve Caleb in his first week long VBS. Each day the events drew between 50 and 60 kids, who loved making crafts, learning new songs, playing crazy games and eating more popcorn, snow cones and corn dogs than I ever could. The entire program was constructed around an Australian theme that was faithful in presenting the children with the truth of the God that created them, loves them and who sent His son, Jesus so that everyone could be forgiven of their sins.
