Even the routine rigors of classes at our university were relaxed in the days preceding the 15th. Here, a local Mariachi group performs alongside a troop of traditional Mexican dancers (below). These two groups put on an impressive show at one of the university’s auditoriums. (For those whose impressions of Mariachi bands have been defined only from the troubadours that frequent the local Mexican restaurants in central NC… they’re a lot better down here.)
