¡Vamanos a Taxco!

Last week we had the opportunity to see our first sites outside of the Mexico City limits. While Ellie was visiting we made the trek to the mountain city of Taxco located 2.5 hours to the south. This city is known for its attractive colonial architecture and its abundance of silver. Being that this city is something of a tourist destination I was hoping for some authentic southern Mexican food as well.

  1. Is Taxco named for its famous crunchy, meat-stuffed shell export or for being the center of profuse government fund collections from willing citizens?

I like your rental car, but how did all four of you and your luggage all fit into that little red VW bug? Don't forget to set your parking brake there!
